Resumen : To analyze the use of videos to develop the listening skill in students of senior-level of Eloy Alfaro high school in Esmeraldas, a descriptive investigation was carried out using the deductive-inductive, analytical-synthetical, and hermeneutic methods. The techniques used were the survey and the observation. The population was formed by 100 students and 7 teachers. The sample was composed by 30 students and 7 teachers. The results revealed that the use of videos has a high impact on the development of listening skills as through the videos the use of the foreign language can be appreciated both in the way it is expressed and, in its pronunciation, and styles. The results showed despite, the shortcomings in listening skills, the lack of a suitable place where students could feel comfortable and motivated to learn a new language, they had the desire to learn a new language through the use of videos because for them it was a new way of working in the classroom and it could be seen that listening skills were developing more and more in them.
